Tsuyoshi Namigata is professor of modern Japanese literature and comparative literature at the Graduate School of Social and Cultural Studies, Kyushu University, Japan. He was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Japanese Studies of Seoul National University in 2011-12 and at Harvard-Yenching Institute in 2022-23. He is the author of Ekkyo no Avangyarudo [Border-Crossings in the Japanese Avantgarde] and numerous articles. His current projects focus on Japanese modernism during wartime and the regional history of modernism in East Asia.
