Welcome to the Chinese Program!

We offer:

• Four years of Mandarin Chinese language and one year of classical Chinese courses for both heritage learners and true beginners
• Chinese literature, culture, and linguistics courses in English
• Major, minor, and honor in Chinese
• Summer intensive courses
• After-class one-on-one Chinese tutoring
• Study abroad opportunities in mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong through the UC Education Abroad Program

Students who did not take any Chinese language course in the past two years at UC Davis must take a Chinese placement evaluation before registering for any Chinese language course.
